15-minute strengthening and heart-pumping workout to lose weight

  • Bodyweight exercises to strengthen muscles and lose weight

    Instead of wasting your time in long, mundane workouts, try these bodyweight exercises recommended by Sagar Pednekar, fitness expert Gold’s Gym India to target all the major muscles groups like your arms, abs and buttocks. Complete 15 repetitions of each of these moves and then repeat the cycle by performing ten repetitions per move to up your heart rate and strengthen your muscles.

  • Push-ups

    Push-ups: The exercise specifically targets the abdominal muscles, the pectorals, the deltoids and the triceps. They fire up your core while working on your balance and flexibility.

  • Squats with wide stance

    Squats with wide stance: Squats should be part of your exercise plan if you want to lose weight and tone your buttocks. They help also contribute to strengthening the bones, ligaments, tendons surrounding the area.

  • Forward lunges

    Forward lunges: The exercise tones your glutes as well as your thigh muscles giving you a shapely lower body. All you need to maintain is good form and posture and not lose your balance as well.

  • Side plank dips

    Side-plank dips: Side plank helps melt those love handles, but you can take the side plank up a notch by doing side plank dips. The exercise requires incredible strength and flexibility so you eventually end up building a lot of stamina.

  • Burpees

    Burpees: Not only will this move tone your shoulders, arms, abdomen, hips buttocks and legs but will also increase your heart rate and helping you burn a lot of calories. Burpees is also perfect for improving your upper and lower body strength.
